when is big to big

I am interested in a larger display. My question is how big can you go for a primary display before it starts looking like crap. 27 inch ? 32 inch ? I want something pretty big, but not so big you cant read the text or is to big to be in your face.

I have a 30" and I doubt I could go larger but I could see myself doubling up on it so I had two 30" screens.

I sit on my couch and surf with a mini plugged into a 47" TV. That is fine because the resolution is decent but I couldn't sit at a desk and do that.

thanks. Thats good news that 30 is feasible. I just measured it out with a tape measure and thats pretty huge. It might be easier for me to set up duel 24 inch displays in the long run. Thanks again at least I have some idea anyway.
