I remember that to learn to touch-type on my computer keyboard, I played a variety of PC games. Some had me typing words or sets of letters, and as I did it faster and with less errors it triggered some element in a game, such as a race of two cars and my car drove faster.

Do such software titles exist for learning to play on a digital keyboard? I can hook up the keyboard via USB, and would love to have programs to help me practice chords and songs.

Do you have GarageBand 09? The lessons are a cool feature. I'm not too sure of other software that will do what you want, but many beginner keyboards have light-up keys that guide you with chords, scales, and songs. These usually run below $250 USD.

Yeah, I've been using those tutorials a bit as well. They're quite good.
