hey everyone!

i have a question...
i've got a friend who refuses to jailbreak his iPhone (for a couple of reasonable reasons) but wants to tether his internet connection. he's done that in 3.0, but once he upgraded to 3.1.2 (or 3.1 in particular) he wasnt able to do so anymore. any ways to do some tethering without jailbreaking the phone?

thx in advance!:D

No, with 3.1.2 Apple plugged the hole that made that possible in previous firmware. Only way to do it is if you jailbreak.

yeah, in the future AT&T will probably have a tethering option

but it's highly unlikely that hacked tethering will be possible without jailbreaking ever again.

He could roll back to 3.0.1 which is what I did. MMS works and tethering does as well.

depends on what phone he has. if he has a 3GS, he can only downgrade if he got his 3.0/3.0.1 SHSH thingy on file with cydia

True, thanks for adding that. ;) It has been a long day.
