Powerbook dies after un-plugging power!! .. even when battery is in

Hi All,

I have a G4 Powerbook 1.5 running 10.5.8.

The following is driving me nuts.....

When I un plug my power lead from the powerbook the computer dies even when the battery is installed (the battery is showing a good charge). I've even bought a brand new battery and it still dies after un plugging the power. I've also noticed that when the computer has been put to sleep and re awakened, it's lost my airport password and I have to constantly re enter the password.... I guessing the 2 problems are linked.

I have re set PRAMS and done a complete re-install of OSX and still have this problem.

Any ideas on the above would be much appreciated.

P.s. I have searched for this problem on other forums, but to no avail

thanks Reflow for the advice, but as it turns out, my PMU battery was faulty and since I've fitted a new one the computer has been fine.
