I was downloading the new 3.0 software and the iPod just froze with the screen showing the Apple logo and a progress bar under it. The iPod will not shut off or do anything.

Please help.

Have you tried holding the home and top button together for about 30 secs maybe longer ??

"Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day."

I'm sorry but that just made me laugh out loud.

When you downgrade make sure you are restoring. Also when you downgrade to a software that require you have an earlier version it will malfunction. The program inside your iPod Touch has a version 3rd gen, and you downgrade/ restore to 3.0 a earlier version the program inside says, "Program unknown, and says needs 3.1.2 to activate ipod," What I mean is if you have a later version it meets all capabilities and requirements, but when you downgrade the iPod only has a few options and only can turn on with the correct version matched with the right unit.:apple:
