I have a 24" iMac running 10.6.2 and I recently installed The Sims 3. Everything works great except for the in game sound which comes through filled with static and other interruptions from the start of the game. I have tried fully deinstalling it and then reinstalling it with no luck. All updates have been installed for it as well. Any ideas? :(

There have been other reports of incompatibility with the Bose Companion 5 Speakers you have and Cider based titles. Try adjusting your sound output to use the internal speakers instead.

I have a request into Bose to talk to someone on the technology side about the problem. In the meantime, if you're comfortable on the command line and are interested in helping to track this down, send an email to me at 'gav@transgaming.com'.
