Hey everyone,

Are there instructions anywhere as to how to remove the 27" iMac from the stand holding it up? I want to transport it without the stand attached and reattach it. Do I need any special tools? Can't find anything via google or other forums on exactly how to do this. It can't be too hard being that the Vesa mount is suppose to be easy to put on.

Thanks in advance!

Apple sells a VESA mount adapter kit which includes a tool necessary to remove the stand.

it's kind of a pain in the a** to do so. Did it today to mount it on an Ergotron arm, then had to reattach the stand when I discovered the arm wouldn't support the weight.

Does anyone know of the specific tools and technique needed? I need to remove the stand for packing tomorrow, and none of the apple stores have the vesa mount for the 27" iMac in stock.

Unless someone has recommendations as to other possible stores in Los Angeles that would have something like that in stock?

Thanks!

Don't know the size of the trox screws but this video works for the 27" iMac (same mount).
