I been on macrumors for a while and I have seen some may post where people use crazy grammar or spelling. I saw one the other day and I wanted to post these links in the thread, but I didn't want to be mean :).

I do not care for Internet spelling either. People who replace 'S' with 'Z' should know how immature they look to us, English speakers.

Got that dudez?!!!

We just do that so we can make fun of the way you mispronounce "z".

I'll keep that in mind if I ever find myself discussing those creatures on Zedanzedibar (I wonder if they even have a decent zedoo there).

No, but they have excellent zeeoos.

I'm a good Canadian who says "zee-bra", "tom-ae-toe", and such, but I'd like to point out that the letter Z is pronounced "zed". "Zee" doesn't exist, so I don't know what you're talking abooot, eh!?

You know I find it quite odd when I see a member ridiculed over something they are correct about. The 26th letter of the Roman alphabet (Z) is called zed mostly in the U.K. while the majority of Americans call it zee, the French pronounce it ezed as do many others such as the Scots. None of these pronunciations are incorrect, you can even call it izzard if you wish.

Good post. My only issue would be with the alleged Scots pronounciation - I certainly don't say 'ezed', although I may now affect this in an effort to sound more continental!

Odd as it may seem, the USAians are closest to correct on this one, modulo the vowel shift afflicting all the major English dialects to some degree. The Roman alphabet we use was borrowed from the Etruscan, and the letter's name evolved from "ze" to "eze" (http://www.ling.su.se/staff/hartmut/abc.pdf)[1] with none of those silly "d" and "t" embellishments added elsewhere. :)

[1]proposed; really it's still on the same page as the US (i.e., correct) way. What is it with me today, anyway? I'm being quite the little troll.
