I'm guessing this will get generic pretty quick, but I dunno.

(feel free to cover up any personal info)

All the icons I used for my Finder items are straight from the 1996-1998. They're the Total Eclipse and World of Copland 1 icon sets.
(yes, my Network icon has the AOL logo on it. For the lulz.)

Are you still running on Tiger? It might be time for an upgrade.

Yes, but I might upgrade this Christmas, can't be completely sure though. Also I found an older (2.6) version of Candybar and it works like a dream.

Pretty busy Ian! Hey, on a side note (to add some depth to the thread, no offense OP) does anyone NOT use Finder? I tried out Pathfinder (http://cocoatech.com/), but had to stop after the demo. However I did really start to like it. So many more options and window customizations than Finder...

Not sure if it's the same idea as what you're looking for but I use QuickSilver and rarely launch from Finder.
