a friend of mine got to photograph her last fall... she lived in the trump tower, and he asked her how she could afford that, being 96 and very retired. to this she replied, "i married well. twice." what spirit!

Yes she was first married to writer John Saunders, then Robert Riskin who wrote several Capra films but he died a few years after the marriage, she then married Riskin's doctor several years later.

My prayers go out to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

It seemed that the majority of her life was post retirement from the screen.

Not I. I definintely don't want to live that long. Chances are too high of debilitating mental disease. But good for her. I loved her in King Kong. The way she squirmed. Oh!
