Address book rewriting cards unexpectedly...

Using Snow Leopard and an Intel IMac any changes made to cards in Address book disappear with all the cards showing the same edit date. Disconnected the MobileMe link and problem still exists.

Created groups disappeared also.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated, thank.
