Well, we've got a Best Games Ever (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=835309) thread (implying older games) and a Best Mac OS 9 Games (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=834956) thread, so how about what are your favorite current games? I'll set the cutoff at 2002 or newer and preferably games for MacOS (although Windows is OK too, no console games).
My favorite two would probably have to be Team Fortress 2 (PC) and Halo original (Mac).

Deux Ex and erm Age of empires. X3 very enjoyable too if your willing to invest time into it. Morrowind was truly one of the best games ever made and oblivion was good as well

In terms of playtime invested; Left4Dead 1. Although I do prefer 2, just my iMac doesn't :o. I have to overclock just to get it running at 40fps at lowest settings.

Probably the "AoE" franchise: Mythology, AoE II & III + both expansion packs.

Best games I've played in the last couple of months are probably L4D2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

What are you overclocking on your iMac -GPU or CPU? and what program do you use?

Just the GPU. 3 years on and I still have no need for a faster CPU, but yea I'm using Omega drivers and that comes with its own overclocker.

I have been trying to do the same with my iMac (ATi 2600 model) with no luck. Was there a trick you used to install the drivers?

Nope, just installed them. Right click on the ATi Tray Tools thing, hardware, overclock settings. Apple really underclock these things... I've gained almost 300mhz on my Macbook (9400M) and 200mhz on my x1600 iMac. Maybe you didn't install the ATI Tray Tools or disable overclocking when installing?

I must give it a go again tonite as I read your suppose to increase clock speeds in certain increments which I did not do.

Try ATi Tools (http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/). I got an extra 250 Mhz out of my x1600 core clock and 350 extra Mhz from the VRAM and it has a nifty little setting that allows you to find the highest stable speeds. Also, raggedjimi, the Omega Drivers haven't been updated in an age, the new Catalyst Drivers run through Mobility Modder should give you improved performance.

Oh sweet, yea I did think about updating them recently but I had no idea where to start. I tried the official ATi driver page and the installer just laughed at me and closed itself.
Edit: OH NOW that's brilliant. I can run L4D at a higher resolution and set everything to medium-high and still get 40-70fps. Could even run the shader settings on Very High so long as everything else was low. L4D2 runs a bit better too. This is great :).
