I have made the stupid mistake of allowing iTunes to update my nano to firmware 1.1.3, now it will no longer link to my Alpine car stereo. I have trawled the web and seen other with a similar issue. It seems I need to downgrade to version 1.1.1 and all will be well. I have downloaded

iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw
iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore.ipsw

both of which fail as being incompatible. In desperation I downloaded

iPod_26.1.0.3.ipsw
iPod_24.1.0.2.ipsw

again, both fail for the same reason, incompatible. Any help anyone can give me to get me out of this mess would be appreciated!

Try this link, http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...es/061-5808.20090805.Fvgtr/iPod_31.1.0.4.ipsw Its 1.0.4 for iPod nano 3G.
I got it from this web site, http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

download the file and hold down te shift key and fin te restore file an restore to it.

Neve mind. I provided you the wrong link. I can't find 1.1.1, sorry. If you have the computer that 1.1.1 was downloaded onto, it's still tere. I will help you find it if you have downloaded/upgraded to 1.1.1. But that may have been the Original shipping OS, and you may not have ever restored. Sorry.

Thanks for trying.

no I can't find 1.1.1 either, going back further should work though as long as it is 1.1.1 or earlier, but as you can see I am having very little success so far.
