Alright everybody, what are your favorite old video games and the systems that you played them on? I'll start this out with mine, let's see if we can bring back some memories!
River City Ransom - NES - This was my favorite side scrolling action game of all time. I still play it with RockNES
Super Mario Bros 3 - NES - Two Words: Warp Whistle
Road Rash - Sega Genesis - The most hardcore motorcycle racing game EVER. This game has my all time favorite video game music, and, you can club people. It dosen't get much better than that
Chrono Trigger - Super Nintendo - Yeah, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about that game
Zombies Ate My Neighbors - Super Nintendo - You kill zombies with water pistols and soda cans, all while rescuing your zany neighbors. I spent way too much time on that game
Castlevania Symphony of the Night - Playstation - My favorite video game of all time. This one takes the cake. Beautiful graphics, sweet story, oh man, memories...
Starcraft - PC - Battle.net Use Map Settings > Me :D
I've got TONS more favs, but those are the ones that came right to my mind

Alright everybody, what are your favorite old video games and the systems that you played them on?
Sonic the Hedgehog (anything before the pinball one) on the Megadrive - Genesis for you US folks. Spent hours playing on that. Come to mention it, I played the Master System/Game Gear versions, and thought they were better, graphics allowing.
PGA Tour golf, again Megadrive. It had built in flash memory and everything.
Micro Machines, Megadrive... that had no flash memory, but the military version had extra joypad ports on it, man! Woah!
Clayfighter - Super Nintendo. I was best with the blobby guy.
Alex Kidd/Miracle world, Master system. This was built into the console, so I played it loads. It was kinda crappy, but in a charming way.
Lemmings - played this on MS, MD, Acorn and Amiga! Loved the theme tunes.
Super Mario Land on the Game Boy (original) rocked my world, too.
Back in the day I played lots of Centipede and Millipede on the Atari 2600. Defender was also awesome, although I always ended up shooting the humans... oops... Battlezone was also pretty scary for a 6-year old...

Man when I think of old video games, my mind drifts back to playing Pong and some tank battle game on our B&W TV. That was back when video game "consoles" were one-trick ponies. Okay, maybe two- or three- trick ponies, since you could play a few variations of Pong.
From there I think of the old Atari game consoles. Asteroids, etc.
Oh, and you can't forget Intellivision - Tron was a good one.
Ah, those were the days! :D

I don't remember the exact name of it, but the first game I ever played (when I was about two years old) was this crazy WWF wrestling game for PC. It came on a 5.5" floppy disc and everything, launched directly out of DOS. Oh yes, the good times of old games...

Atari 2600 - Pitfall (Play with Stella on my Mac now)
NES - Excitebike - The create your course was hours and hours of fun for me
SNES - Earthworm Jim - Just really like this one, but there were lots of others
DOS - Stunt - again the create your own course was awesome
DOS - Scorched Earth - Wasted many days with that one
Mac - Lemmings - especially the Christmas one. I loved the little bobbing Santa hats.

Final Fantasy 1 - NES. Awesome.
Wizardry 1 - Apple IIe. Awesomer.
I totally forgot about those. Wiz 1 to whatever and Bard's Tale on the old Apple 2. I played for months in school. Good thing the computer teacher liked me, I got away with installing Castle Wolfenstein, Bard's Tale and Wizardry on the IIe's.
Early Mac games, I liked Dark Castle, Balance of Power, Uninvited, Deja Vu, and Leisuresuit larry because I truly believed if I played long enough I would get past the bikini in the hot tub.....

You're not the only one. Utopia was tight. Plant some crops and hope the hurricane didn't destroy them. I had the voice synthesizer thing and bombed the heck out of the Nazis in B-17 Bomber.

We used to have a console called "Fairchild". It had a neat lunar lander game where you were supposed to land it without touching ground too hard.
However, my addictions were Space invaders, and Asteroids, at the local 7-11. That got expensive. However, I became friends with the assistant manager of the local arcade, and got most of my games free :D

From the '90s: AvP on the Jaguar. Scared the crap out of me. Runner-up: Doom. Come on, it made everyone realize 3D games on a PC were possible...
From the 80's: Star Trek arcade game. "Welcome aboard, Captain."
From the 70's: Crappy tank game mentioned by emw. Crappy, yes. Fun as hell then? Yes.

Saw several of us old-timers mention "Pitfall" on the Atari 2600, but didn't see "River Raid" mentioned yet. Those two were probably my early favorites. Also liked the ColecoVision version of "Donkey Kong".

I haven't played in years.... but if I remember correctly, I got past the weird short guy who moved really fast (easy), then the weird wine- drinking guy, and the... was it a vampire? I remember some weird tiny guy coming out of his clothes if he got a point... but anyways, and I beat the creepy mystic woman a couple of times... I don't remember anything past that... I wonder if I still have a compy of that game somewhere...
