mini cd 1.83 to imac c2d 2.66 how much faster will it feel?

currently i have a mac mini with a core duo 1.83 and it does everything i need.
but in after effects its a bit slow, still usable, but rendering takes awhile and the menus have a lag to them.

now would jumping to the 2.66 core 2 duo make after effects CS4 noticeably faster?

Yes, you would notice a huge difference. The difference is almost 1GHz.

As the previous poster said, you will see a huge performance difference. Especially since I am guessing the iMac has more ram than the Mac Mini.

I went from a 1.83 CD 2GB RAM Mini to a 2.93 C2D 4GB RAM iMac....for things like CS4 you'll notice a HUGE improvement in speed.

prolly gonna turn it into a HTPC, but not sure on that yet
