Hey,
I need to rearrange my menubar icons so the ones I need all the time aren't obscured by Application menubar items -- I'm using a 1024*768 12" LCD, so it happens quite often. I could have sworn in Jag I could just drag them around as I pleased, but I've tried in Panther and it won't work. Help?

Hold down the Command key (the one with the apple) and drag them.

command+Drag. If you control drag them off, they go away.
edit: not only did I confuse my buttons, but I was beat to the punch. ugg...

Whee! Thanks, I probably did that last time, and forgot.
Now you're all warmed up what the hell is happening here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=83740)? :D

On a related note, I use my Airport-Extreme base-station in PPPoE mode to connect to my ADSL connection.
This means that there is an ugly (and, in my view, totally useless) counter next to my AirPort signal indicator. Is there any way to persuade OS X not to display this counter? It takes up a load of valuable menu-bar real estate.
It may well be a setting within the base-station: the latter is my property, so, if that's the case, just let me know what I must change and I can do it.
Thanks.

Should be in a menu under the Airport thing. A screenshot is attached.
