Nike+ and iPhone 1G?

Hi there. I have been looking if the first iPhone is compatible with the Nike+ system and haven't found any straight answer. Apple's web page says it's not. However, I don't know if this applies to the new system or if there is an older one that actually works.
So, is there any Nike+ system that works with the first generation iPhone? Thanks!
