View Full Version : Safari Yahoo! Chat Doesn't Work

Yahoo Chat will not work on my i-Mac in Safari. Does anyone know why or what I can do about it? Even with the new java code that came out, it's still not working. Thanks

I would try internet explorer. A lot of the things on Yahoo don't work with safari. Take uploading to your briefcase or geocities for example.

There's nothing that can be done. IE works kind of.

Geocities works for me on Safari. Just take a look at the website I whipped up in 30 seconds.

DO NOT USE WEB BROWSERS FOR YAHOO CHAT ON MAC OS

use charla, http://charla.sourceforge.net
or chitchat, http://chit.sourceforge.net

i use charla and its great.

Thanks so much for the Charla tip, with regards to Yahoo! Chat. For many months now I have been unable to use Yahoo! Chat on my G5. The rooms have refused to load in IE, Safari or the superb Camino browser. Now, thanks to
Nusuni Admin, I can merrily chat away again. Brilliant. Cheers ! :) :)

its good to hear.


one last note just came to my attention today. It seems certain version of charla wont work on yahoo chat today, same goes for chitchat. With charla it seems theif's version does not work and mysts's does. So ya..wutever. Hope its a temporary problem

Why, I wonder, has Yahoo! Chat become anti-Mac ? Unable to use yahoo! these past few months, I ventured into ICQ Chat. Unfortunately, the heavily-moderated rooms saw me getting booted out on many occasions. And I didn't even swear. Honest !

Yahoo has ALWAYS been anti mac, take messenger for example. We have a little droplet of features conpared to the windows folk. They always look for ways to torture us, and that is the honest truth!
