View Full Version : PowerMac G5 1.8, 7,2 - in need of memory advice

Hi,

I have the above mac and it has 8 dimm slots for memory, it is currently running

2 x 256MB so a total of 512MB

i want to take it up to 4GB but not sure what memory I need

ddr or ddr2 - pc 3200 or pc4600 - 184slots or 240slots


can anyone help

You need 400 MHz 184pin PC3200 DDR SDRAM. Your Mac can support 8GB RAM.

cool cool, and the harddrive is just a standard SATA connection one?

looking for a 1TB HDD aswell as have 2 bays

Yep, standard SATA.

RAM is supposed to be in pairs iirc. PC3200 RAM is cheap (~$40), get as much as you can afford, because it probably won't stay cheap.
