Well after a full week of a noisy fan it has finally decided to die this last night. So now I have to send it to Apple and get it repaired. The sad thing is that its only 3 months old.

Mine died once too. But for me, I think something got jammed then the center bearing broke off cause I heard a pretty loud clunk and click then it fails.

looking on the bright side - it may run hot, but at least it runs quiet :D

Why is that sad? Would you rather it have died *after* the warranty period was up, so you'd be stucking paying for the repair yourself? A fan has moving parts. Anything with moving parts will wear out and die. Some just last longer than others.

Mine died as well and I purchased a new one at ifixit.com and repaired it myself. The new one runs better that the noisy apple on ever did

You replaced the fan with a different one? So it works better? I have had one issue where my fan was noisy. I took off the back, blew it out with canned air and it has worked great since. But, I am always looking to upgrade the MBA if the new hardware works better.

Let me know.

Thanks,
