Hello everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice. This is my first Mac and I'm new to this forum. I have friend who told me to install smcfancontrol to control the fans. I have been using this with no trouble since July & even after I installed SL in Oct I had no trouble. For no real reason I thought "what else may be out there" so I Googled 'fan control' and found: Extended MacBook/MacBook Pro Fan Control 1.2. I downloaded it and then decided I didn't want it so I uninstalled it but I found that my fans never reset to the default 2000 RPM which they were running at with smcfancontrol. The fans stay about 2800 give or take under normal load. I reset the smc and the pram but the fans still stay in the 2800 range. Now if I push the machine they do bump up and come down when I ease up but they level out higher than they did before I installed this "Extended MacBook/MacBook Pro Fan Control 1.2". What else can I do to get my machine back to the default setting of 2000? Thanks for your help.
