A guy on another board put this up for sale and I'm just wondering what it's worth.... Thanks.

Its a 12" powerbook g4 with 768 megs of ram and a combo drive. It comes loaded with OS X 10.3. 40 gig hard drive. Airport Extreme Card Installed. it also comes with Office X student edition. I also will throw in a copy of final cut express. And of course the most important thing of all is applecare until sept 06. Id say it got 8 months of use total. Oh yeah and it has a registered copy of transmit.

All approximate from what I could gather....
Applecare (in its current condition): $150
Office & Final cut express: which versions are these? (I wouldn't price them too high)
RAM: who is the manufacturer of the RAM?
Powerbook: I am guessing this is a Rev A? No more than $1000 for this and RAM

I could be off by quite a bit, but this is my guess at this time without looking at the products and discussing it with the seller.

768 mb of RAM would be impossible in a Rev A.
(Rev a has 128 mb soledered, plus 512 mb --> 640 mb)
It have to be the rev b version (1ghz)
Rev b has 256mb onboard (+512=768mb)

A Powerbook 12" rev B is almost the same machine as the 1ghz iBook (12")
A new ibook 12" costs 1099 (w 256mb ram and 30gb hd)
with 768 ram and 40 gb disk + airport (and bt??), around 1100 is a fair price.

Also, if the person is not including the actual CDS for the software and transferring the license to you, the software hasa zero value. Including illegal software on a powerbook does not increase its value.

Thanks for the replies. It is a 1 GHz by the way. The guy was asking $1500. I appreciate the help.

Ehh, I think you could get it a bit cheaper than that. I actually think you could get a much better machine for that price.
