Just got this yesterday. I was going to wait to see if any updates were going to come in January but I needed the tax write-off. This is my first mac as my 'main' workstation. The puny dell next to it is my old workstation.

Some might actually think the thread pertains to leaked photos of the new 2010 Mac Pros :)

Anybody else notice the OP's diploma? :D
Unfortunately, I can't tell university/degree with picture size.
However, OP, nice machine.

I have to say I like the setup, the desk is pretty cool. The only thing that lets it down from a purely aesthetic stand point is the cable management under the desk.

Yeah I just got done organizing those cables some. I attached the powerstrip you see on the floor in pic #2 to the underside of the desk. I might have to drill a hole behind the monitors to feed the other cables neatly but nothing will be on the floor or hanging down once I'm done.

I think the system could look better if there were one more large LCD screen on the left. Are there games that simultaneously display three different viewpoints? How come the IPT/iPhone is missing in the top two photos?

It must be a pleasure to sit down with that setup each day. Enjoy.

One gt-120
One ATI 4870
I'm thinking of getting a second Apple 24" display as well. What made you go with the ATI 4870 rather than another GT120? Do the displays sleep independently of each other? Most of the time I'll only need one display on.

Nice setup!
Could you do one thing for me?
1. Download XBench
2. Run XBench with no music playing
3. Run XBench with music playing
You should find your pride and joy has a massive bug causing performance loss of about 25% (as yours is the quad, as is mine) and that you should join us in getting apple to fix it here:

Sorry to put a downer on your parade but we need this fixed, and the more people hassling apple the better.
Much appreciated :)

Funny, your MP looks just like my MP.
Why people need to post pictures of their computer on a forum is bizarre to me.
Flame on!

You are using two different video card on the same board. I never know that possible. So if u run an app, say photoshop, which card will power your app ? Or they will both power you app ?
