Very cool... :) we seem to be witnessing a revival in interest in all things spacey, the next decade looks like it's going to be very exciting, I just hope that NASA keep the world informed with the dev of the Shuttle replacement!

Not very useful altitudes for solar sails, but for deployments, impressive indeed. :)

Very impressive technology, let's hope it pans out to be as beneficial as it's predicted to be. Way to go, Japan!

This is awesome news, good for Japan. The design is really neat. Will look forward to real life uses of this technology.

ya but we have a useless missile defense system...that doesn't work, and we were the first and only to deploy. man the u.s. is ******.

Cool. I'm glad to see at least one country is looking to further space exploration. I feel like there is very little interest today in furthering our study of space.
