Well I bought a imac g5 on Craigslist & managed to change all passwords w/ the snow leopard CD since it was password protected.

I'm not sure if the CD I have is the upgrade version or full version. Question is if I boot from the CD and use Disk Utility to erase Macintosh HD will this still allow me to reload the operating system after I erase everything? Or will erasing Macintosh HD w/ the disk utility disable the computer and not allow me to load any operating system.

You can erase all you want, the SL DVD will allow you to install SL even without any previous Mac OS X version detected.
