I was pleased to notice rather a lot about the Commonwealth; its consolidation of nations, beliefs, peoples.
But am I going too far to connect its dominance with
Uganda's anti-gay bill which would have homosexuals imprisoned for life, or even executed?

Embarrassingly, Uganda is a member of the Commonwealth. Ironically, the colonisation and British influence brought much of this homophobia to a tolerant Africa. Same happened with Japan. thanks British Empire!
