Hey all, this isn't exactly "on the mac", but I can't find anything on the internet.

I was helping my relative transfer files to his new windows 7 HP Touchsmart, and I remembered that he wanted only certain things transferred :)o). I tried to do a system recovery to wipe the hard drive and start afresh, but the boot screen came up with "BOOTMGR is missing" and I then downloaded a repair disc and put it on a dvd. I tried to boot off it and everything seemed to go well, but now it's stuck on a black screen saying "(c) Microsoft Corporation" and a blank loading bar above it. (Blank meaning no bar is running across it, it's just a rectangle that should have a bar running across it.) Is it supposed to take a long time to boot off a DVD like this? If not, any help is appreciated. Why couldn't he get a mac......;)
Thanks!
