So I recently purchased this 21.5" iMac that I'm using at the moment and.. I want to know if it is normal or not for it to be emitting a slight whisper at a constant volume.. Basically I can hear it being on. It's really quiet and all but I wanted I should expect in the future/what I'm supposed to hear.

Thanks, it's really been bugging me to find out >.<

You should only hear noises if you are running intense applications, otherwise it should be silent.

Interesting.. Not good news. Being new to dealing with Apple and all.. How can I fix this problem? (Either through customer care or whichever method works)

If you purchased it directly from Apple, you have 14 days to return it from the date it was purchased. If you bought it at an Apple Store you have to take it to the store and have it swapped.

If you purchased at an online retailer, find out their return policy and contact them for an RMA. If you rather have it repaired (which in my opinion I would not) you can call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE and they will repair it or take it to an Apple Store.

You're not stuck with anything. You have Applecare. Apple has one of the best customer service departments of any company in the world.

Call them.

Yes, it all hardware faults are covered by AppleCare for the first year if you didn't purchase extended AppleCare.

iMacs are only silent if you're deaf. They have multiple fans that are always moving air and hard drives spinning faster than your average car engine. They are quieter than the vast majority of PC's, but don't let the deaf people try to convince you they're silent; they're not.

Agreed. My G5 iMac and even my macbook both emit a low level noise, you learn to ignore it.
