Just bought a 13" MBP and now thinking about replacing my Mini 1.83 C2D with an iMac 21.5. Don't need the 27".

Is it safe to buy the 21.5 or should I look at a refurbed 24"?

If you're interested they have both models of the 21.5" in Apple's Refurb store. I ordered mine yesterday and got it today (next day shipping) and it is perfect.

No lines, no yellow, and a Western Digital HDD. :)

Yep, that's exactly what I plan on doing. I almost figure the refurbs will get more scrutiny for the yellow issue. I really want the LED backlit 21.5, but not if it's going to be a headache. At $999 though, it's hard to pass up.

I'd go for it. Apple refurbs have been tested and fixed if needed be (hence, why they are refurbs :p). Plus, like you mentioned, at $999 it's priced extremely well.

I have no personal experience with Apples refurbs but they have a very good reputation.
