finder ask for my password to delete a file??

i downloaded a couple .psd files off a web site, a few photoshop templates. they went to my downloads folder, they work fine.

i want to delete them and when i try finder ask me to type in my password to be able to move them to the trash.

that doesn't seem right to me.

why is finder asking for my password?
 
Look at their permissions via Get Info in Finder (CMD+I).
