hi. i got my imac 27 core 2 duo base in the 4th of december. and then today was the first time this happened:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf4rQlfHOYU
i started when i was working on an idvd project. it wouldn't stop. a restart solved it (it was about 20/30mins ago). i didn't happen again, and i'm working again in idvd so i guess it's not overheating gpu related. i have the lastest updates both software and firmware. if it happens again i will sound the alarm

They will not give you something better as you're not entitled to anything better. You are entitled to a repair ... that is it. If they cannot repair they will replace with the same machine as they just came out.

oh my lord. how can this be happening.
Seriously.
You know, Ive used PCs for so freakin long and was so happy looking forward to my first iMac computer and now this. I must be a real idiot to keep my hopes up on this machine. I just really refuse to get invloved with another PC. Vista and Dell overdose has led me to a imac, but c'mon... how can Apple make such a shoddy computer? Really.

Why would they give you an i5? Any crazy upgrades that people have mentioned on these forums before are rare.

^ Crazy upgrades like that could happen in the event the user has numerous issues with theirs.
IndustrialSpace dude really? You're going to let this be your argument as to why your machine sucks or why it may suck? Have you even bought one yet?

No, havent bought it yet. Ive been following the iMac and researching since the early summer. I was waiting for the new one which came out late 09 but now all I read are horror stories. Im doing my best to hang in there and not get discouraged, but everything I read here is about defect after defect with the screens. Im trying to be patient and hoping Apple will fix this sooner than later, but Im starting to lose hope.
When would Rev. B most likley come out? I realize its no guarantee that the screen issue will even be addressed, but maybe it will. THe wait is truely killing me. I very badly want to own my first imac.

You can live your life on these boards and never buy a machine based on what you read or you can buy a machine and see what happens. Understand that people complain more than they praise. YMMV.
When will Rev B come out? 6-12 months? Who knows?

If you really want to own a Mac, then buy one. If you only go off what you read on internet forums (for any product, not just Apple products) you would probably never buy anything again.
Yes, there are some issues out there. But there are infinitely more good machines than bad. And if you do run into an issue, that's what Applecare is for...

So a computer with a jumpy screen is the best computer you have ever owned? Did you use this before your iMac?

I don't think you could be given a rev B (as it would be better than the one you have). I think you should definitely return it and ask for a new one... The 14 days have already passed, so are you legally able to return that one? Or you can change it as long as you warranty persists?
GRANDA TUGA! CONTINENTE ONFIRE!

i will reply in english so everyone understand. i'm not worried cause i have 3 year of warranty. as i said, if it happens once in a while i don't mind waiting. but i will surely call apple warranty later. if it gets worse then i will not wait

If you bitch and moan they will:
1. Replace your hard drive with a 1TB SSD.
2. Replace your C2D CPU with a nano-core i9 32GHz CPU.
3. Upgrade to 100GB DDR5 RAM.
4. Slap on a 2GB nVidia 450M GTX GPU.

Sounds about right, and if you get the right guy they will throw in a 17" MBP for free

Please remember, most iMac owners are not on this forum because they don't have problems. According to a couple of links off of google, iMac sales are through the roof. Most do not have any issues. I've had mine since 11/24 and all is perfect. Don't complain about something you are not having a problem with because you don't have one. That makes no sense.
