Just announced today, they're both iPhone related products.

The Synth Station is a standalone iPhone app synth and sequencer. Drum patches and an ARP are included and you can use the touch screen as an XY pad too. Doesn't look like it has sampling capabilities though, which is a shame. If you've ever used the Beatmaker app, one of the cool things is it let you use your iphone as a field recorder and trim the wav files into samples you could map to the virtual pads. Not sure if you can do that here.

The IPK is a 25 key controller with an iPhone dock. It looks like an MPK25 without a stripped down control surface and looks like it was designed as a companion controller just for that iPhone app. Never seen anything like it.

I'm a big fan of Akai gear for the same reason I like Korg and Vestax. Those companies have experiments every once in awhile where they release some wierd product on the market (IE Vestax with the Faderboard, Korg with the Kaoss Pad). Sometimes the product catches on, sometimes it busts. I'm curious to see where this goes.
