21.5" iMac wireless keyboard battery level not changing

Anyone else have this issue....my Mom has the new 21.5" iMac (base model) with the wireless keyboard. The Magic Mouse battery level changes, however the keyboard battery level stays at 100% all the time?

Is this common?

Yup....keyboard works fine....although she just had to change the batteries on it. Really weird that it doesn't seem to budge off 100%. This is with normal AA batteries.

Was wondering if it was a software problem with 10.6.2 with all this other Magic Mouse battery draining issues going around.
