In today’s jet age where all plans are made on the go, it is sometimes a little time consuming to check your flight reservations. This predicament is made easy for the iPhone user with the addition of the new iPhone application – MyFlightInfo.

App: MyFlightInfo
App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/myflightinfo/id336779827?mt=8

URL: http://www.myflightinfo.com
Message: MyFlightInfo 1.2

Category: Travel
Price: $0.99 (iTunes)
Version: 1.1 -> 1.2

This tool gives the iPhone user all the required information regarding flights – their arrival and departure times, delays, weather, maps and even ticket information. The developers have taken advantage of the In-App Purchase feature of the iPhone to provide users with optional upgrades, allowing you to view flights over an extended period or to receive push notification on status updates. It is truly a feature that embodies the concept of ‘value for money’ as you only pay for what you need. The In-App Purchase process is quick and easy and you do not even have to restart the application before taking advantage of your new features.

With the price of the application starting as low as $0.99, this is the best value for money and most useful flight application for the iPhone so far.

The application comes with a Quick Search Button that enables you to search and locate the five closest airports to your current location. The App also has an extensive database of over 5000 airports and is supported by over a thousand airlines, which almost guarantees a succesful search. The application enables you to view your real-time travel itinerary using the supplied information. You can bookmark as many favourite airports of your choice to enable quick and easy access to these airports for searching. You can also delete existing bookmarks and create new ones at your convenience.

A highly developed application, it comes with a Quick Flight Info table, which has all the required information about the flights, right up to the gate number. Checking your ticket information is also made easy using this App. All you have to do is enter your 6 Digit Booking Code and your Last Name, and all the information you could possibly need like baggage restrictions, ticket purchase information, time between flights etc pops up on the screen of your iPhone. What else? Well, the Push Notification System alerts you up to five times before your flight with updates on your flight status without even having the App running!

You can also email anyone your flight details using this application. All your flight information is put in to a new mail using the Apple Mail App and this can be mailed to anyone you wish using your regular contacts list.

With many other exciting options, the My Flight Info App of the iPhone is one of the most detailed and best developed applications available in the App Store. Enjoy your travels and leave the reservation worries behind as they are now at your fingertips, quite literally.

Are you enrolling any beta-testers? I won't be traveling heavily until June but I took note of this App.

This thread should be in the 'apps' forum.

Not only that, the positive review on iTunes (UK) is written by someone who has the same name as the company's MD (Iain McLean). This is illegal (in the UK anyway).

Every time a new version is released, it appears the same 3-4 people write the same-worded review and give the app 5 stars. Sounds very suspicious if you ask me.

FYI. According to my colleague, dealing with the company via email only results in rude and unhelpful responses.

There are several cover 4-5,000 airports worldwide including the UK ones.
A few of which will also push updates, either via email/sms from (Tripit, Flighstats).

Still not as good as Flight Track Pro IMHO.

The free 'Flight NT' app as a bare bones get you by app is ok. Not on par with some of the 'pro' apps - but ok for a freebie.

Thanks for the heads up. There's no place for this kind of behaviour, and I hope that if there's impartial reviews being made like this it is widely publicised and dealt with in the way it should be.

My biggest concern is that both my and my colleague have informed Apple that the company director is posing as a customer, and Apple have done nothing about it.

You cannot be certain that Apple has done nothing. There is a very good chance Apple has initiated an internal investigation. What did you expect them to do? immediately pull the app when you made a complaint?
