I'm a lifetime PC desktop user who's looking to buy my first laptop. I'm really interested in getting a Macbook. I will be using it mostly as a suppliment to my home network as an interface to my 720p 42" plasma.

I'm wondering what the general video performance is of the basic MacBook 13" model. I will be playing a variety of video formats such as DivX/Xvid .avi; .MKV; H.264 .m4v's, etc. No Dvd's or Blu-Rays as I have other stand-alone players for those.

I'm really trying to justify to myself expanding my original budget to try and get a refurb MacBook, so I thought I'd ask experienced Mac users what the raw deal was as far as video performance.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Plex and XBMC will play nearly all containers and codecs currently available. I don't think you'll have too much trouble with playback.
