I'm helping a friend replace his superdrive on his 15" aluminum powerbook g4 1.5GHZ. Can I put any model Apple superdrive or combo drive (like one from a titanium powerbook or ibook) or will only specific model superdrive/combo drives work?

Finally, are the brackets also interchangeable on the different model superdrives/combo drives? Some sellers on eBay sell them without brackets and I figured I could just take the existing bracket he has on his powerbook and use it on one of the ones he can get on eBay. Thanks.

Any with IDE interface and 12,7 mm height should work. Use old brackets from original SD - it's good idea.
