Add 2GB RAM With 1GB sticks

Hi All,

Adding another 2x2GB sticks in my 2 spare slots will take me upto 10gb, but will i see better performance or will i be better off getting 6x2GB as it's triple channel, i dont really want to because of the expense, but some advice would be good.

adding 4 x 2GB sticks would improve your bandwidth and memory capacity more. Fit the new 4 GB sticks in the lower slots and the old 1 GB sticks in the higher slots. retire two of the 1 GB sticks.
