Any ideas how I might get my MB to start.... I open the cover and press the powerbutton. The wait-state icon comes up and spins and spins and spins.

Thanks
Eric

What MacBook model specifically? What have you done before you shut it down? Do you still have the Restore DVDs (the gray ones) or a SL Upgrade DVD to run Disk Utility from it?

It is the most current white MB.

I don't recall excatly what I did.... Just normal use. No system type installs/changes/etc. Normal meaning playing music and writing a document in Word. Then when done, just "Shut Down."

Yes, I have the Install DVDs. Was thinking about installing OS again.

However, I just realized that the easiest thing to do is to take it to a genius at the Apple Store. :)

Thanks

Reset the PRAM. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379)
Reset the SMC. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964)
Use Disk Utility (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417) on your OS X Install disc, or discs that came with your computer.

Took it to the genius bar at the apple store... It has to be sent in. The genius said the motherboard has to be replaced.

And, thanks for the input. :)
