I live in a dorm, and our entire campus uses the same wireless network. My macbook's connection has been incredibly weak for the past few days, sometimes going unrecognized by airport. My roommate's connection (she has a newer macbook) is just fine, but lately mine will start out at 3 or 4 bars, and within minutes or seconds, fall to just one or none. I've installed the latest airport software update and contacted my school's tech support. They suggest that the connection is just weak where my laptop is, but this isn't true - my roommate's works fine in the very same spot. They just got sassy when I told them this, and suggested I go for an ethernet cord. The outlet for that is quite inconveniently placed, so that isn't an option.
I've run the network diagnostics thing, but that doesn't help at all - it asks me for the network's password repeatedly, but the network doesn't actually have one.
Strangely, the signal's also really weak on my iPod touch...my roommate has the exact same one and hers works perfectly fine.
