so this is or is not iPhone OS 4.0?

Seems like a discrete tablet GUI...

I cannot see all that going on the next phone, right?

They announced a separate iPad SDK, but the iPad will run iPhone apps.

So no... not iPhone OS 4.0.

I'm guessing it will be iPhone OS4; seems like it. Nothing that can't be done on the iPhone (except maybe some power hungry things).

It's wireless only, so no.

That's easy, the OS just detects if it has hardware to do the phone stuff and uses it.. just like the iPod Touch does. Just because it is wireless only doesn't mean it can't be the same OS.
