To follof up on my earlier idiotic dock question,
I heard recently about an app that lets you launch applications by typing abbreviations of their name. Anybody know what Im talking about? I searched the forums here but wasnt able to find it.
Thanks!

There are a couple of these that I've tried, but the one I've liked best is called Quicksilver. Can be found at http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/.

there are a ton of programs that do this. i currently use butler, because it does a boatload of other cool stuff—like mapped shortcuts sto programs. for example i mapped option-s to safari. so that's all i have to press to launch it.

I've just downloaded and installed Quicksilver. It has completely changed the way I use my laptop. I really don't even need a dock! :D  :D :D
