I could see in a classroom having your book on your iPad and taking notes on the Air and hardly weight wise anything to carry. Then again you can in theory do both on both machines. I can see them working together but for a small percent of people.

You could do that or just have one larger 15" notebook computer and have your book on one side of the screen and have your notes on the other side. The device is larger, but you only have to carry one thing around.
