iPod Touch 8GB will NOT start! D:

Okay, so... I just found my iTouch after decommissioning my iPhone 1st gen. Said iPod had a password. With my luck, I didn't remember it. I kept guessing and guessing, I thought. "I should do a system restore via- iTunes."
But when I turn the iPod on, the Apple logo comes up, the backlight goes a bit darker after a few seconds, but shuts off.

ANY HELP? T_T

EDIT: Same thing happens when I plug it in to my PC.

im not really sure but i think you're in a boot loop. try googling how to fix it.
