Looks cool shame its designed in Dream Weaver :) (I LOVE GOLIVE, well not litterly) , I would buy but for two reasons:

a) I spend any money I make about 1/2 an hour after I get it on stupid expensive things

b) I try to only use Photos I take myself.

eh i'd rather use MacroMedia products than Adobe ones. The Macromedia versions always seem easier to use, faster, and more accessible. I couldn't stand the look of GoLive after I used Dreamweaver. Looks may not be everything, but I would be willing to bet that its easier to create a nice webpage using a nice UI.

Right on. Photodisc.com sells 10mb images (basically what we're offering) for around $150.00.

The $60 you see is a sale for 5 images. :)

Thanks for the props, arn. Yea, we do take all the content ourselves. Eye, myself and a good friend of mine are the main contributors at the moment.

We're hoping to grow and add some other folks. It'll be fun. Heck, it's fun already. :)

SWEET! I wish I had a nice camera so that I could contribute to the site. My little digital though just won't cut it. That sucks, because I could get some great pics of stuff around here. Oh well. When I get a real camera then I will let you guys know.

Not quite sure if you are looking for feedback, but...

Generally, if I need photoghraphy, I commission it, but when I have used stock photography, my general concern is speed. I want to find the images fast, and I want to be able to use them fast.

Essentially, I want to know when I come to the site that I am not wasting my time there. I want to know that there are images that might fit my needs before I start, and I am going to want to download a useable copy right away. Obvisiously, you're just starting out, so the former is going to be a problem (or at least until you have built up your catalog), but as for the latter, if you can swing it, I would try to set up some sort of account mechanism (preferably with credit card,) to allow the user to download the images on demand. Even if y'all are good about following up on requests, I may not want to take the risk in a time sensative project (aren't they all?). There are just too many variables in the 'we'll send you an email once your payment has been received.'

Some general comments...

1) I would put a watermark on your preview images.
2) Display the number of photos per category, or search return.
3) break down your pricing. $35 is cheap, but if the photo is for the web, or presentation, I think photodisc is $25 for RF.
4) More information about the source, and use, of the photographs.
5) Credit card payment Paypal may be problematic for designers in an office setting.
6) Remove empty categories, frustrating.
7) Nitpicky, but in the categories page, you may want to account for multiple line categories a little better.


Anyway, that's first blush. Other than that, I wish you the best.

thanks for the info...Moxie agrees along with me (and duke) that we need to refine it a bit still...

it's still in it's begining growth stage...but we're planning on lots of additions to the site as we can do them...

currently our biggest concern is figuring out how to provide instant downloads to customers anytime of day during a purchase...similar to Corbis & Eyewire...anyone got any leads? I've been looking around and my searches have proved useless so far...
