Has anyone heard if you will be able to sync your data on your apps between the 2 pieces of hardware without connecting them both to Itunes?

Possibilities...Developers allowing information to be sent via blue tooth or mobileMe set up between your two products or a dual 30 pin connector to connect iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch.

It will extremely annoying to have to upload information twice on both machines.

Thanks in advance!

A developer simply has to use Wifi or Bluetooth networking and they can sync whatever they want from one device to another within their app. Basically the same way that it currently works with syncing 3rd party apps like Things or 1Password from the desktop to a phone or iPod.

for example...information on a program such as ifitness (where you can log work out data) will be transmitted between the two without connecting to itunes each time?

Well it is up to the developer of that app to support it from within both the iPhone and iPad versions of it (assuming they have a special version for the iPad). But yes as long as they include that, you don't need to go through iTunes. It isn't like an automated process where you can sync all of your apps at once though, you have to do it on an individual app basis (again, assuming the app supports it). It is possible that Apple could provide a better solution for this in a future version of the OS.
