File down a normal sim?

Couldnt you in theory cut your normal sim card down to the size of a micro one? and then glue the cut sections to your iphone sim tray so that you can use them in both the iPad and the iPhone?

I don't think so as the MicroSIMs have extra securities and new encryption technologies on them so even though the actual pins line up, unless someone can crack the technology then it wouldn't work. But the enterprising hackers may somehow be able to do it (it seems there is nothing they can't do) so eventually we may be able to. But if it does happen it won't be overnight so you may have to wait.

The whole thing is a memory card if you will. If you cut it, it's going to permanently damage it. It's like thinking if you cut a 2GB flash drive in half, you think you could use each of them as 1GB flash drives, but it doesn't work like that. You need to buy another SIM card. They have different connectors and their innards are totally different as well.
