Dual Displays with the 27-inch iMac

Hi.
There's a good chance i'll be buying a 27-inch Quad Core iMac in the near future. Currently, I have a dual screen setup with my current (5,1) iMac where both screens are the same size. I really like having both my screens the same size and want to do the same for my new iMac.

Does anyone know of a good quality monitor that is 27-inch with a 16:9 ratio? I don't need lots of features that ups the price, I just need a good quality (I do photo editing) screen the same size as the 27-inch iMac.


I don't have a strict price limit, but I don't think i'll spend over $500. I don't care about the brand.

HP and Acer have one, but both have abysmal resolutions (1920 x 1080 and2048 x 1152).

Dell also has a pretty good one, but it's 1000$.

I'm going to keep my 23" ACD with my iMac 27", it will be a bit smaller but still fine.

Having 2x27 inch would be HUGE.

Dell are set to launch a 27" monitor that is identical to the 27" iMac (size, resolution) except matte. Should be out soon.

I've placed my order of the 27-inch i7 Quad Core with 8 GB RAM for a huge $3400 (Australian) so I don't think i'll be spending much more on a display (my funds are rapidly drying up) so I think i'll either buy the 24 inch version of the dell so the Resolution actually matches to the size or get the new Dell 27 inch that is coming out as you said peskaa, but if it's too much (which I suspect it will be) I'll just stick with what i've got and/or go without a second display for until I get the money.

It is not identical to the iMac screen. It's not LED backlit for one.

People are so damn pedantic on here. It's the same resolution and physical size as the iMac, but the Dell is CCFL and matte rather than LED and gloss. Oh, and the Dell comes with far more inputs.
