Dear MacRumours members

I never used Mobile Me to host any kind of website before - but I got my hands on a piece of software called "Delicious Library". Its a library app where you can keep track of all your stuff, books and DVDs and the sort.

The app got this feature, publish to Mobile Me. It uploads a cool website like a library where users can browse your stuff.

It uploads to http://www.homepage.mac.com/user/deliciouslibrary.

Why on earth does Mobile Me use .mac.com for this? The gallery and everything is on gallery.me.com?!?!?!

I just don't think its very "stream-lined" when it uses different prefixes.
Any thoughts?

Oh yeah btw,.. is there no way to make the URL easier?

like http://www.user.me.com? or something shorter than homepage.mac.com?

Thanks!

That link doesn't work for me.

Of course it won't. It doesn't have his username in it.

Homepage is a legacy feature from .Mac that was discontinued. However, you can still access any files that are placed there (the Sites folder on your iDisk).

Since it is a legacy feature, it was updated to have the new domain me.com
