My combo drive on my eMac is not recognizing music CDs when I put them in. It WILL burn CDs and it WILL read data CDs. I bought the eMac about a month ago and the only thing that has changed in my system lately is an update from Apple and I installed Virtual PC 6.0.
thanks

How do you know it's not reading music CD's? What does it do, or not do?

they don't show up anywhere, not in the finder, itunes, or anywhere else that i look, I've already checked my finder preferences and it's not that. But data cds show up in finder.

Just making sure...

no, when you are in finder, you can go to finder at the top left and there is a preferences, not sure if it's called "finder preferences" but that's what I'm refering to.

Without trying to be Captain Obvious, are your music CD's protected music CD's? Some of them are very picky about working on Macs and will only work on Windows. Maybe that's why it's not showing up on your eMac.

I've tried different CDs, including ones that worked before. I have virual PC and when I try to read music CDs through that it works. I'm completely stumped.
