Won't turn on..

When I tried to install windows the other day the last thing that happened was the screen went black and that was fine but.. we had a power surge the today and now all I hear is the HDD trying to boot..

Call your nearest Apple store, or visit the Apple website and make a booking with a Genius to explain the situation. I doubt it will get covered under warranty, but they can/should be able to fix it.

You do have current/recentish backups of all your data?
